What I thought wouldn't happen is becoming a reality: The NHL playoffs will be upon us, but with a few changes. First, no fans. It's a bummer, but considering circumstances, makes sense. Secondly, there will be a play-in round with four extra teams in each conference. This sets up a 24-team showdown where even the lowliest team has a shot of winning the cup (or the draft lottery). Finally, both conferences are in their respective bubbles. The East to Toronto and the West to Edmonton.
The result is, hopefully, a conclusion to a tremendously messed up situation. Doesn't change much in objectives, but in teams getting injured players back fresh and ready to play. Here's to a successful playoff run, whomever wins.
